"Constellations of the Pavement" transforms 1,337 gum stains into a reimagined map of human presence, reflecting the fleeting yet lasting impact of interaction. Spat onto the ground effortlessly, these stains become embedded in the cityscape, much like how brief encounters leave lasting imprints on personal identity. Clustering in places of transition, such as bus stops, tube stations, bins, these marks mirror the way people cross paths, pause, and move on, often unnoticed yet subtly shaping the spaces and lives around them. By assembling these stains into a new composition, the work reframes what is often disregarded as a quiet meditation on connection, memory, and change. Like constellations in the night sky, these scattered remnants, when viewed from a new perspective, reveal a larger narrative of presence and transformation.
